Murder on VE Day – an immersive theatrical ‘whodunnit’

Join  us for a unique immersive theatrical experience to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of VE Day, as The Proteans team up with Pedlars and Petticoats to present a Murder Mystery where you are the detective!

It is May 1945 and as Victory in Europe is declared, the good townspeople of Basingstoke begin planning a celebration for the community in the local infant school. However, the end of the war brings a desire to settle old scores, be free of oppression closer to home and to take a final revenge! Murder is afoot, and it is up to you and your team to solve the mystery!
Blending  colourful characters, period songs and music, this immersive experience takes you back in time to that heady May weekend of 1945, when the whole of Europe celebrated together.

You’ll mingle with the characters, enjoy the VE Day celebrations and atmosphere, accompanied by a delicious slice of cake with your tea, coffee or VE Day cocktail, giving audiences plenty of the chances to spot clues as the action unfolds! We’ll split into groups where you will have the chance to interrogate our suspects, before we come back together as judge and jury for the final reveal!

We strongly encourage our audience members to dress up in your best 40s gear, embrace your inner Poirot and join us for a truly unique experience!
