BMI presents… ALEX SAINT IVY | Seek Harbour
Back to our Indie roots for the 3rd gig of 2025 from the Basingstoke Music Initiative. Live music from Alex Saint Ivy with support from Seek Harbour.
As ever the BMI gigs bring you a mixture of established acts on the ascent and will introduce you to new artists, fresh on the scene and lots of local talent too!
Alex Saint Ivy
Alex Saint Ivy’s music is best described as “the sound of suburban frustration”. Despite growing up in a UK town best known for its roundabouts and now a half-empty shopping centre, his songwriting takes inspiration from classic American artists like Tom Petty, Billy Joel and Bruce Springsteen and then mixes them up with more modern influences like Hiss Golden Messenger, Ben Kweller and early 00s one-hit wonders The New Radicals.
Alex Saint Ivy describes his music as “Indie Folk Power Pop” which gives you some idea of the different musical worlds that coalesce to create an Alex Saint Ivy song. Listen to his lyrics and you’ll often find a mixture of wry observation and irony, opening up windows into people’s lives like the travelling folk storytellers of old. Listen to the music, and you will get a different story, with big melodic hooks and layered harmonies that betray his pure pop sensibilities. Having released 5 singles in the last 9 months, and with headline shows in Brighton and London under his belt, Alex Saint Ivy is hoping to make 2025 his own.
Seek Harbour
Following a lineup change and the introduction of new vocalist Aimee Allin, Seek Harbour recently returned with the EP ‘Versus’. The EP had support from the likes of BBC Radio 1 Rock Show, Kerrang Radio (Featured Artist Of The Week), Kerrang (Top 20 Chart), Dreambound, TotalRock (Single Of The Week), Idioteq, Noizze, RTE2XM, Apple Music, Deezer, and more. Fresh from a UK tour with Colt 45 and shows with Dream State and Delaire, The Liar, the band will now release a series of reimagined songs and continue with ‘Emotion vs Motion ii’ which is out on the 25th October 2024.
