BMI presents… A Formal Horse | Velvetine | Dahlia’s Comet
We kick off 2024 with and indie/ rock line up for the first of our monthly live music gigs brought to you by The Basingstoke Music Initiative.
For February we have a cracking line up of bands ranging from upbeat indie to shoegaze and some progressive/ art/ post-rock vibes.
As ever the BMI gigs bring you a mixture of established acts on the ascent and will introduce you to new artists, fresh on the scene and lots of local talent too!

Velvetine
Coming out of London’s alternative music scene, Velvetine is a rising quartet that stitches elements of post-punk, shoegaze, goth and art rock into a dark and gripping sonic fabric, resulting in a sound they call “gloomy dream rock.” Featuring the compelling vocals of Mia Scarlet, Ross Fernyhough’s atmospheric guitar work, Joshua Rowell on bass and Gabriel Powel driving the rhythm on drums, Velvetine brings a mix of emotion and energy that’s struck a chord with fans.
